Certificates of Deposit (CDs)

CDs are an excellent alternative to traditional savings accounts because you earn higher yields while protecting your hard-earned money from fluctuating interest rates. Some of the reasons to choose an Ixonia Bank Certificate of Deposit are:

  • Low minimum opening deposit of $1,000 on most terms
  • Variety of CD terms ranging from 6 months to 5 years
  • Depositors are FDIC insured up to the maximum allowed by law
  • We frequently offer specials! Check out current specials and rates here.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)*

IRAs are a terrific way to help save for your retirement. Flexible and convenient, they offer great tax benefits while adding to your overall investment plan. Whether you are starting a new Traditional or Roth IRA, or rolling over funds from an existing retirement account or a qualified employer plan into one of our IRA CDs at Ixonia Bank, the interest you earn will grow in a tax-advantaged manner. At Ixonia Bank, our IRA CDs feature:

  • Low minimum opening deposit of $500 on most terms
  • Variety of IRA terms ranging from 1 year to 5 years
  • Tax-advantaged savings
  • Depositors are FDIC insured up to the maximum allowed by law

What are the basic differences between a Traditional IRA and a Roth IRA?

Traditional IRAs

The annual contribution to a Traditional IRA is tax-deductible (if you qualify), but when you begin to withdraw money, you pay ordinary income tax on your withdrawals. Do you have other IRAs or an employee retirement plan distribution coming? You may be able to transfer or rollover these funds into one of our IRAs to allow your funds to continue to grow in a tax-advantaged account.

Roth IRAs

The annual contribution to a Roth IRA is not tax-deductible. Your contributions can be withdrawn any time tax and penalty-free; and after a 5-year holding period, you may be able to make federally tax-free withdrawals of your earnings.
