Dan Westrope

Chairman & CEO

With over 35 years in the banking industry, Dan Westrope’s background and knowledge of banking helps lead Ixonia Bank’s professional team of bankers to meet the needs and objectives of their customers and the communities that they serve. Prior to joining Ixonia Bank, Dan held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bancshares, Inc. in Bettendorf, Iowa. Previously, he had been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of State Financial Services Corporation and State Financial Bank, both located in the Milwaukee area; and Howe Barnes Investments in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelors of Business Degree.

Mark Wierman

Mark Wierman joined Ixonia Bank in September of 2014 as its Chief Lending Officer. With 30 years experience, Mark's main responsibilities at the Bank will be managing the Bank’s commercial lending team and loan portfolio as well as leading the Bank’s new business development efforts. Prior to joining the Bank, Wierman was a senior leader of Associated Bank’s commercial banking team, heading its asset-based lending group. He is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Business Administration - Finance.

Wierman is active in several local organizations, including serving on the Finance Committee of the YMCA at Pabst Farms and as Finance Chair of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Pewaukee. Mark is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Ausblick Ski Hill, and is active in the Association for Corporate Growth. Mark resides in the Oconomowoc area with his wife and three children, and enjoys outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, and hunting in his spare time.

Dennis Sampson

Senior Vice President

Dennis Sampson joined Ixonia Bank in June 2017 as Senior Lender. Dennis brings 30 years of commercial banking experience and will help lead the Bank’s commercial lending group’s growth and the Bank’s continuing focus on providing a high level of service and responsiveness. Prior to joining Ixonia Bank, Dennis was Executive Vice President at First Business Bank where he worked exclusively with business clients for nearly 20 years. Dennis is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he earned a Bachelor of Science.

Dennis has been active throughout his career in the community serving in leadership positions on several boards and service clubs in addition to coaching baseball and soccer for many years. Dennis is currently serving on the board of Middleton Glen. Dennis resides in Oconomowoc with his wife and youngest son.

Douglas Ortyn

Senior Vice President – Commercial Banking

Douglas A Ortyn has 29 years of commercial banking leadership experience and has always been passionate about leading his teams to deliver an unparalleled banking experience for clients. Doug began his career with American National Bank & Trust Company of Chicago where he managed commercial banking for the Milwaukee region. Before joining Ixonia Bank, Doug managed TCF National Bank’s Corporate Banking teams in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. Doug is responsible for the Milwaukee middle market commercial banking region for Ixonia Bank.

Doug graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration. Doug lives near Port Washington with his wife and two children where they enjoying sailing on Lake Michigan.


 Tom Pasch

Vice President – Commercial Banking

Tom Pasch joined Ixonia Bank in December 2014 as Vice President of Business Banking. Tom, who studied Business Finance at Brown College in Minnesota, will help develop and maintain relationships with businesses in the areas of commercial and industrial lending, as well as commercial real estate.  He is a firm believer in developing simple and honest relationships with his business customers, and enjoys getting to know the "people" behind the business. Prior to joining the bank, Tom worked as a Business Relationship Manager for Wells Fargo.

Tom, along with his wife and three young daughters, currently reside in Watertown. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Alpha Life Resource Center in Watertown, as well as on the Board of Directors for Dodge County Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Tom is also active on the Young Professionals Committee with the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce. While he dedicates a lot of time to helping his customers and their businesses succeed, he still finds time to golf, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with his family.


Wendy Sowinski

Wendy Sowinski 

Vice President – Commercial Banking

Wendy Sowinski joined Ixonia Bank in December 2013 as Vice President of Business Banking. With over 20 years of banking experience, her objectives include building and managing new business relationships by providing customized Commercial Lending and Cash Management Solutions with an emphasis on improving efficiency, cutting cost, and increasing cash flow. Prior to joining Ixonia Bank, Wendy worked as a Relationship Manager for Associated Bank's Business Banking division. She attended University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and has held multiple licenses and certifications.

Wendy has been actively involved in the community through work with the United Way, and Toys for Tots. She served as a Board Member for the Oconomowoc Youth Football Program for 6 years, and continues to participate in a number of youth and community development programs. Wendy lives in Oconomowoc with her husband, and 5 children.
